Create Download Page In WordPress

So you want to create a simple download page on your WordPress powered blog or website and would like to know how to create one? Recently I created such a page for a friend and you would be surprised to know how easy it is to create one.

There are a number of ways you can accomplish this. But we will be looking at a quick, simple and effective solution for your downloads page that you can put up without getting your hands dirty.

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Log on to the WordPress admin panel and click on add new plugins.
  2. Search for a plugin called “Download Manager” by Shaon.
  3. Alternatively, you can download the plugin from here
  4. Install the plugin and click activate.
  5. You should now be able to see something like this in your left sidebar:
  6. Click on “Add new file” and enter the relevant information and upload a file.
  7. Once you have a uploaded a file for your friends to download, you will be given an access code that looks like:
  8. Copy the code “{filelink=1}”
  9. Now create a new page called “Downloads” or whatever you may want to call it and paste the code in its text body.
  10. Click Save and you should have a working download link for the file on your download page.
  11. Additionally, you can create a table in your wordpress page and use it to neatly arrange your downloads on the page.

Go ahead upload a ton files and simply add the code on the download page. Feel free to share any other ideas that you may have.

  1. Good Job Done!! 🙂

  2. Vikram,

I’m assuming you have to upload the file via FTP.

    Is that correct?

    Kindly,
